Online registration for 6th Bangladesh Robot Olympiad 2023 started
The online registration for ‘6th Bangladesh Robot Olympiad 2023’ has started under the initiative of the Information and Communication Technology Division, jointly organized by the Directorate of Information and Communication Technology, Department of Robotics and Mechatronics Engineering of Dhaka University and Bangladesh Open Source Network. The announcement was made through an online launch event this morning.
The Secretary of Information and Communication Technology Division Md. Samsul Arefin was present as the chief guest in this opening ceremony. Announcing the opening of online registration, he said, Bangladesh Robot Olympiad is a big platform to shine the name of our country in the outside world. Besides, he also expressed hope that this program will be helpful in the intellectual development of the students of our country.
Director General of Information and Communication Technology Directorate Md. Mustafa Kamal presided over the event. In addition to informing about the rules of registration of the Olympiad, the President of Bangladesh Robot Olympiad and Professor of Robotics and Mechatronics Engineering Department of Dhaka University Dr. Lafifa Jamal delivered a welcome speech. Besides, Dhaka University's robotics and mechatronics engineering department chairperson Dr. Senjuti Rahman was present as a special guest.
Note that this year, students studying in Bangladesh born in 2005 or later can participate in the Bangladesh Robot Olympiad. Registration for the 6th Bangladesh Robot Olympiad 2023 can be done by visiting the website of Bangladesh Robot Olympiad till September 7.
It is to be noted that the online selection phase of all the Olympiad categories will be held on September 13-16 and the national phase will be held on September 29-30 at Dhaka University Student-Teacher Center with the students selected from the online selection phase. This year in total 5 categories (Creative Category, Robot in Movie, Physical Computing, Drone Maze and Robotics Quiz) will be held in National Olympiad. This year students have to build robots based on The Olympic theme.
The Bangladesh team will be formed through a residential camp based on performance from the winners of the national phase, who will participate in the 25th International Robot Olympiad in January 2024 in Athens, Greece.
